Jordan's Queen Rania has shared a photograph featuring three generations of the kingdom’s royal family, to mark the coming new year.

Queen Rania and the Royal Hashemite Court posted the striking official portrait on Instagram on Saturday. It marked the first time the king and queen have released an end-of-year portrait as grandparents to the two youngest members of the royal family, and was accompanied by a message from the queen.

“May the bonds of family and love continue to grow in the year ahead,” she said.

The portrait shows King Abdullah holding Princess Amina, daughter of Princess Iman and her husband Jameel Thermiotis, while Queen Rania holds the infant Princess Iman, with her parents Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa walking behind the queen.

The king and queen’s younger children Prince Hashem and Princess Salma complete the line up.

The female royals co-ordinated to wear pistachio-green dresses and tops, with the men in more casual attire, befitting the relaxed family scene that the photo portrays.
