The life and work of Lebanese-Palestinian journalist Samir Kassir has not been forgotten since he was killed by a car bomb in the Achrafieh suburb of Beirut on June 2, 2005. In December 2024, candles marked his campaign to eliminate the influence of the Syrian regime from Lebanon at a march in the Lebanese capital to celebrate the removal of president Bashar Al Assad from power.
