Today Mr Porter launched a shopping app, exclusively for Apple TV. Designed for tvOS, the app allows customers to shop from the short films embedded in The Journal, which is Mr Porter's weekly digital magazine platform. Customers can now shop content directly from featured videos like the How To Iron A Shirt tutorial or Tokyo's Best Kept Secret insider film.
Mr Porter is the male-counterpart of the high-end e-commerce site, Net-a-porter. Founded in 2011, Mr. Porter is home to a host of labels, and offers express shipping to over 170 countries, worldwide. Previously, customers could shop by visiting the website via a computer or other device, or by installing the app from either the Apple or Google Play store. Now, if an iPhone or iPad user has the Mr Porter iOS app downloaded, it can then be automatically downloaded to Apple TV, where they can browse and shop on a big screen.
