Jeremy Scott’s much-anticipated debut collection for Moschino didn’t disappoint.
For autumn/winter 2014/2015, the new creative director of the ever-playful brand presented McDonalds-inspired outfits (complete with Happy Hour bags), chocolate wrapper gowns, SpongeBob sweaters and coats emblazoned with the slogan ‘Fur Real’. There were also references to gummy bears, pop corn and cereal packaging, making this a bright and unashamedly brash homage to consumerism in its various forms. “This is the new flavour,” declared Scott at the time.
The message was clear: the brand’s creative director might be new, but its inherent sense of fun endures.
The Fast Fashion collection was an instant hit in the UAE and sold out immediately. But if you missed the chance to pick up your SpongeBob sweater the first time around, fear not. Select pieces from the collection are back by popular demand, and available now from stores in The Dubai Mall and The Galleria, Al Maryah Island.

Types of fraud
Phishing: Fraudsters send an unsolicited email that appears to be from a financial institution or online retailer. The hoax email requests that you provide sensitive information, often by clicking on to a link leading to a fake website.
Smishing: The SMS equivalent of phishing. Fraudsters falsify the telephone number through “text spoofing,” so that it appears to be a genuine text from the bank.
Vishing: The telephone equivalent of phishing and smishing. Fraudsters may pose as bank staff, police or government officials. They may persuade the consumer to transfer money or divulge personal information.
SIM swap: Fraudsters duplicate the SIM of your mobile number without your knowledge or authorisation, allowing them to conduct financial transactions with your bank.
Identity theft: Someone illegally obtains your confidential information, through various ways, such as theft of your wallet, bank and utility bill statements, computer intrusion and social networks.
Prize scams: Fraudsters claiming to be authorised representatives from well-known organisations (such as Etisalat, du, Dubai Shopping Festival, Expo2020, Lulu Hypermarket etc) contact victims to tell them they have won a cash prize and request them to share confidential banking details to transfer the prize money.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
