Competitive runners have a new event to add to their calendars – the Saucony Time Trial Run.

The first run in the series, covering 5-kilometre and 10km distances, will be held on February 24 at the Hamdan Sports Complex.

The aim is to help runners track their progress through regular events during the year – the second run has already been confirmed for the end of April.

Each run costs Dh150, which includes the 5km or 10km race, post-event breakfast and prizes, which will be presented at an awards ceremony at the dedicated race village.

“While there are a number of running events across the UAE it’s great to be involved in an event that facilitates progress,” says Tony Pinheiro, brand manager at Saucony. “We look forward to welcoming athletes of all ages at the launch event.”

The race course length has been accredited by the International Association of Athletic Federations – Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (IAAF-AIMS).
