Recycle your old fitness wear with the Pre-Loved Yogawear Initiative

If it’s time to spruce up your fitness wardrobe, don’t throw out your old gear just yet. Instead, donate them to the Pre-Loved Yogawear initiative.

The campaign is by Elaine Kelly, the founder of Yogafest ME, to encourage recycling fitness apparel and gear and reduce waste.

Several local apparel stores that have teamed up for the cause will have boxes at their locations where customers can leave their fitness apparel, bags and yoga mats. The items will be inspected to ensure they are in good condition and then sold for Dh25 at the Yogafest events throughout the year. All the proceeds are given to a charity supported by the organisers.

Donations can be made at Inspire Yoga Fitness and Pilates, Urban Yoga Dubai and 136.1 Yoga Studio. Activewear boutique yApparel will also give customers who donate their old fitness apparel a 10 per cent voucher to be used at the store for purchases.
