Fitness Briefs: Haddins offers another Primal Challenge

Primal Challenge at Haddins

Haddins Gym in Abu Dhabi is inviting people to find their inner caveman with its next Primal Challenge. The four-week intensive course uses functional movements such as running, crawling, flipping and carrying heavy lorry tyres and climbing flights of stairs to rapidly improve your fitness levels. Starting on July 14, there are two sessions every weekday. One begins at 6am to cater for early risers. Then, to accommodate those who are fasting for Ramadan, there is another in the evening at 10.30pm. The cost of the programme is Dh1,000, although you will be refunded Dh25 at the end for each of the 20 sessions you attend. Call 02 403 4322.

Fit Studio to open second branch

Fit Studio is expanding its reach in Abu Dhabi. The health club already has premises at Al Mamoura Building in Muroor, where it runs a selection of yoga, BodyPump, Zumba and other fitness classes. But it will be opening a new studio at the Mangrove One Compound near Brighton College at the end of -August. As well as an indoor gym, the venue has a spacious outdoor area where instructors can hold circuit classes throughout the cooler months. Volunteers wanted for TrainYas

The weekly running and cycling sessions at Yas Marina Circuit are growing in popularity so swiftly that the organisers need to recruit new safety marshals to help out. The Tuesday night TrainYas sessions at the F1 track on Yas Island need volunteers to help monitor people to improve safety. A spokesman for the racetrack said: “As participants and attendees will know, TrainYas by Activelife is a very well-run and safe event. However, we never can be too careful.” As well as being given full training, all volunteers will receive a free T-shirt. For details, email [e-mail].
