February 27 to March 5

As we look ahead, one interesting subject is the planetary prospects for Sarah Palin. Will she assert herself on the world stage or will she fade from the spotlight? Her career possibilities will be more obvious running up to July, when the next solar eclipse occurs (on the 11th). Her path will be much enhanced at that time. She will become better known for her philosophical beliefs and for matters such as the right to own firearms. The summer is an important time for her. Whereas career prospects will ascend, she must take care in matters connected to her daughter. At the end of March, she will face unexpected developments, especially from men. Plans will be likely to backfire. In late May, she may need to combat someone. TAURUS (April 19-May 19) This week you will have the opportunity to exercise one of your best qualities: generosity. Take part in charitable events sponsored by your community or by a governmental organisation. GEMINI (May 20-June 19) There is much activity this week, but you are unlikely to be in a position to benefit from this positive trend. Social invitations will conflict and you will have to make alterations to your routine. CANCER (June 20-July 21) The days around the 3rd are well-starred for your sign. Venus is strong, so your social life is likely to improve. This is a week to plan activities around your home and family. LEO (July 22-Aug 21) The pace of life has been slowing down for Leo the lion. You are a fire sign and enjoy lots of activity. But this is not the week to launch a new project or venture. This is a time to wrap matters up. VIRGO (Aug 22-Sept 21) Stick to your work routine this week. There will be many distractions. Skip social invitations that can be postponed. This is a good time to focus on a Virgo favourite: health and diet. LIBRA (Sept 22-Oct 22) The days around March 2 are likely to bring delays. This is not a good time to deal with large institutions. You may feel that you do not have the resources to push forward now. SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 20) As the opposite sign to Taurus you both have the opportunity for charitable work. You might not feel like it, but you must at least deal with friends who are in need. SAGITTARIUS (Nov 21-Dec 22) Life has lightened up quite a bit for you. You are ruled by Jupiter and would like to take every opportunity to travel and to attend social events, but you will be tempted to overschedule yourself t his week. CAPRICORN (Dec 23-Jan 19) Most of the weekly trends are in your favour. Your schedule is well-balanced between work and play. There are social invitations and potentially profitable business introductions.  AQUARIUS (Jan 20-Feb 18) Now that Jupiter has left your sign, your schedule will not be as full. This may be a bit disappointing, but you now have the opportunity to select the activities that most interest you. PISCES (Feb 19-March 19) This will be a very active period for you. The days around March 7 are the best for business meetings and making agreements.

UK's plans to cut net migration

Under the UK government’s proposals, migrants will have to spend 10 years in the UK before being able to apply for citizenship.

Skilled worker visas will require a university degree, and there will be tighter restrictions on recruitment for jobs with skills shortages.

But what are described as "high-contributing" individuals such as doctors and nurses could be fast-tracked through the system.

Language requirements will be increased for all immigration routes to ensure a higher level of English.

Rules will also be laid out for adult dependants, meaning they will have to demonstrate a basic understanding of the language.

The plans also call for stricter tests for colleges and universities offering places to foreign students and a reduction in the time graduates can remain in the UK after their studies from two years to 18 months.
