Entries are being taken for this year’s Bloomberg Square Mile Relay, which will be run over a 1.6-kilometre course at Dubai International Financial Centre on Wednesday, February 8.
Up to 100 companies, with teams of 10 runners, are expected to take part in the second edition of the annual event. Each runner will do one lap of the revamped route, sprinting through the arch of the Gate Building, and up and down more than 100 steps, in the fastest time they can before handing over the baton to a teammate.
Competition among teams is fierce. “Interest in the second Bloomberg Square Mile Relay has been strong and we’ve already seen a great competitive streak in the companies in and around DIFC,” says Raja Al Mazrouei, senior vice president – marketing and corporate communications at DIFC Authority.
Registration for a team of 10 runners costs Dh5,500, which includes race fees, event T-shirts, admission to the after-party and hospitality for runners after the race. Spectators are encouraged to cheer on their colleagues, families and friends, and enjoy the race village at DIFC.
