Flydubai to launch new flights to India's Kozhikode

Now it's even easier to visit the gorgeous southern Indian state of Kerala, as flydubai will launch direct flights to Kozhikode – formerly known as Calicut – becoming the only Dubai-based airline to operate this route.

The thrice-weekly service from Dubai International Airport to Kozhikode Calicut International Airport will start from February 1 next year. Return fares will start from Dh670.

Kozhikode is a trading town in Kerala, an Indian state on the tropical Malabar Coast. Also known as the City of Spices the area if famous for its lovely beaches, green countryside and fascinating history.

Tali Temple, Kappad Beach, Thusharagiri Waterfalls and the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary are just some of the attractions the area has to offer.

“We are pleased to add Kozhikode to our network of eight destinations in India,” Sudhir Sreedharan, senior vice president of commercial at flydubai, said. “The new route will provide more passengers from India with access to Dubai and beyond via its aviation hub together with the new codeshare agreement,” he said, referring to the Emirates-flydubai partnership announced in 2017.

With this new route, the budget-friendly airline will operate 30 weekly flights to eight points in India, including Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Mumbai and now Kozhikode.
