Abu Dhabi Film screening Fire at Sea is presented at Manarat Al Saadiyat by Cinema Akil in collaboration with Reel Palestine. The 2016 Gianfranco Rosi documentary is a portrait of the Mediterranean island of Lampedusa, 150 miles south of Sicily, which has become the first port of call for hundreds of thousands of African and Middle Eastern refugees hoping to make a new life in Europe. One of the main focuses of the film is 12-year-old Samuele, a local Lampedusa boy, and his life on the island.
