The third annual edition of The Green Carpet Fashion Awards took place in Milan this week. Hosted by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana in collaboration with Eco-Age, the awards saw some of the biggest names in fashion celebrated for their work shifting the industry towards better sustainability.

Yet, the environment is a thorny topic in fashion. With the industry worth an estimated $2.4 trillion, employing hundreds of thousands of people worldwide, change is inevitably going to be slow. Given the global scale of production and distribution, ensuring every element is up to scratch is certainly a mammoth task. Some labels are definitely handling the journey better than others, and for those that are leading the change, this award ceremony is all the more important.
