More details have announced about the groundbreaking Dubai-built police vehicle that was launched last month at Gitex Techonology Week.

The vehicle, originally dubbed Beast Patrol and now seemingly nicknamed Ghiath, will fight crime by using artificial-intelligence systems with facial-recognition technology.

The collaboration between the Dubai Police, Dubai-based automotive company W Motors and the Abu Dhabi-based Safe City Group has been labelled "the most-advanced police vehicle in the world".

On Instagram, W Motors said: "Ghiath is a police patrol equipped with artificial-intelligence systems featuring facial-recognition technology. The new patrol is one of the most advanced police vehicles in the world and it is equipped with the latest technologies. Its features include the latest crime-busting ability and a set of touchscreens.

"Ghiath is also equipped with the most sophisticated communication system linked directly with the Command Operations Room. Ghiath is the latest addition to Dubai Police HQ's incredible fleet of supercars."
