Behind-the-scenes footage has just been released of the new Land Rover Defender taking a hammering ahead of its appearance in the upcoming James Bond film No Time To Die.
The sturdy 4x4, which will star alongside Daniel Craig in the 25th outing in the 007 franchise, is seen at the hands of stunt driver Jess Hawkins, who puts the car through its paces in preparation for one of the film’s key chase scenes.
To say you can expect extreme off-roading is putting it lightly.
Land Rover’s design team worked closely with the film’s special effects supervisor Chris Corbould on the specification of the vehicles that were used in the film.
Based on the Defender X model in Santorini Black, with darkened skid pans, dark-finish wheels and off-road tyres, these were the first of the 2020 versions to be built at the company’s new production facility in Nitra, Slovakia.
Jaguar Land Rover has a long-standing partnership with EON Productions on the Bond films, which began in 1983 when a Range Rover Convertible appeared in Octopussy.
No Time To Die will be released globally in cinemas from April 2020.
