GREENWICH, CONNECTICUT // An impressive collection of Ferraris has been sold to a private collector by Thomas Hamman, the owner of Hamman Classic Cars, a Connecticut-based rare and exotic car brokerage after Kroymans, the Dutch distributor of Ferraris, filed for bankruptcy. As well as selling new Ferraris, Kroymans also had a collection of classic and vintage Ferraris in stock. The company was founded in 1902 by Frits Kroymans, the great-grandfather of the current company chairman, but filed for bankruptcy early last year.
Hamann was able to secure a deal for the collection involving European banks and Tom Price, a car collector from northern California. A detailed inventory of the sale has not been released and the exact value of the transaction has been kept confidential but it is estimated to be worth several million euros.
