A new exhibition in Dubai has turned automobiles into art

The idea that one (wo)man's trash is another's treasure is proven by Unseen Potential, a new exhibition of art made from spare parts and scrap metal in Dubai.

The pieces were made by technicians from Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors – the UAE dealerships for the likes of Ford, Lincoln, Jaguar, Land Rover, Maserati and Ferrari.

During their spare time, more than 350 technicians from 11 locations across the UAE took part in the two-month-long contest, which has culminated in more than 90 pieces on show.

If you like what you see, it could be sitting on your mantlepiece after the exhibition: members of the public can bid on the pieces until September 22, with proceeds going to charity.

Scroll through our gallery above to see a selection of the artworks that will be on display.

Unseen Potential will be held at Al Tayer Motors' Sheikh Zayed Road showroom from tomorrow (September 14) until September 22. For more information, visit www.altayermotors.com/unseenpotential
