Tomorrow Sonam Kapoor will tie the knot in Mumbai in Bollywood's most anticipated wedding of the year.

Well, last night the actress and her businessman fiance Anand Ahuja celebrated at their mehendi ceremony, which was held in Anil Kapoor's Juhu villa.

A mehendi ceremony is where henna is applied to the bride and her entourage ahead of the wedding - and with henna taking around 24 hours to set and appear, the ceremony is usually at least 48 hours ahead of the wedding.  The bride will often have the groom's name etched onto her hand as part of the mehendi design.

Keen to find out more about the famous faces spotted at the mehendi? Here's a family tree that is a who's who of the famous Kapoor family (of which the legendary Sridevi was a part of).

And while she'll surely be excited about the wedding, Kapoor told us last month that it was marriage she was really looking forward to: "I think the whole idea of a marriage is more appealing to me than a wedding. I think there is too much money spent; it's all very crass, and I would rather give that money away. I'd rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else. I think it's important to do all the rituals, but I don't believe in spending all that money, I find it disgusting and very wasteful, and I'm not okay with that at all."

Director Karan Johar shared this snap of himself with many members of the Kapoor clan, including the late Sridevi's daughters Janhvi and Khushi:

We will keep you updated on the wedding tomorrow - but in the meantime, here's a fast fact: couture designers Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo (whose design Sonam is pictured wearing above) have jetted into Mumbai for the wedding. They are also the designers widely rumoured to be designing Meghan Markle's dress. A big month for them, then.
