1. Building blocks

Eco Wallpaper's new Street collection takes its inspiration from street life and everyday objects such as wooden planking, raw concrete and gold-plated candelabra. The collection is full of contrasts, dramatic patterns and rough textures, drawing on everything from building facades to building sites.

  • Eco Wallpaper is available from Kollektion and Co, Dubai

2. A bright idea

Tavola stores in Dubai are now stocking the Aqua collection by Guzzini. The range is made out of a light, transparent acrylic, making it durable, dishwasher safe, BPA-free and bright and versatile enough to be used indoors and out.

  • Aqua jug in green, Dh115, Tavola stores, Dubai

3. Paper trail

Contrary to Kermit's claim, being green has become a whole lot easier since the opening of The Change Initiative in Al Barsha. New in the store are iPad, iPhone and Mac laptop sleeves by Papernomad. Made from toxin-free, biodegradable paper, wool and organic linen, they are the recipient of a prestigious Red Dot award.

  • Papernomad iPad sleeve, Dh200, The Change Initiative, Al Barsha

4. Super ceramics

If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful way to spruce up your table this season, the Dot Com Gift Shop has a new range of Japanese- and French-inspired ceramic bowls that could do the trick. Bright, colourful and cute, they'd be perfect for all your post-summer parties.

  • Green Circles Japanese Blossom Bowl, Dh29, www.dotcomgiftshop.com

5. Essential spoils

Neom Luxury Organics has launched Invigorate Home and Travel candles, which blend the scents of fresh grapefruit and bergamot with a touch of lime. The candles are made using only vegetable wax and pure essential oils. Each home candle has three wicks and burns for up to 55 hours - 30 per cent longer than standard premium candles - while the travel candles have a single wick and burn for about 20 hours.

How has net migration to UK changed?

The figure was broadly flat immediately before the Covid-19 pandemic, standing at 216,000 in the year to June 2018 and 224,000 in the year to June 2019.

It then dropped to an estimated 111,000 in the year to June 2020 when restrictions introduced during the pandemic limited travel and movement.

The total rose to 254,000 in the year to June 2021, followed by steep jumps to 634,000 in the year to June 2022 and 906,000 in the year to June 2023.

The latest available figure of 728,000 for the 12 months to June 2024 suggests levels are starting to decrease.
