Dubai’s huge new Ikea store is set to open this week, and to celebrate, it will be offering its first customers some exciting rewards.

The Festival City store, which will be the largest in the UAE when it opens on Wednesday, December 18, will be offering the first 1,000 customers through the doors the chance to win Dh1,000 to spend in store. There will be 25 gift cards up for grabs.

Not only that, but the first few customers to shop in store will receive a special surprise gift featuring classic Ikea products.

The 35,000-square-metre store will feature a warehouse, market hall, children's area, cafe, restaurant and bakery, as well as a food store inside. It will be the first store in the world to have a separate entrance to its cafe, meaning people can visit without having to go through the store.

Alongside the new Ikea store, Dubai Fesival Plaza Mall will also be opening its doors on Wednesday, with stores including Marks & Spencer, Pan Emirates and LuLu. Festival Plaza is part of the under-construction Wasl Gate community, which will eventually feature townhouses, apartments and futher retail spaces: the area also has good access to the Dubai Metro, being close to the Energy Metro Station.

The store will open at 10am on Wednesday, December 18.
