It might seem like an unlikely marriage but the ceramicist Reiko Kaneko successfully blends Japanese and British influences to create fine bone china tableware and home accessories. Tea sets by the young designer are now exclusively available at Dubai Mall's luxury multi-brand boutique, Symphony.
A graduate of London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Reiko established her studio in the UK capital in 2007. Born in Britain but raised in Japan, she has developed a unique style that combines the best of both cultures. Her ceramics are made in the UK's Stoke-on-Trent, the home of bone china, and combine centuries-old production techniques with contemporary designs.
We love the Lip Tease, a tea cup, mug and saucer set that turns lipstick marks into a decorative feature. Available in gold or platinum, the lip print is suitably subtle but still stands out against the milky white of the bone china. The collection's gentle humour is characteristic of Reiko's creations and is a delightful way of dealing with a very traditional material. The simplicity of Reiko's designs ensures that the charm of the bone china is not lost, merely enhanced.

What is a robo-adviser?
Robo-advisers use an online sign-up process to gauge an investor’s risk tolerance by feeding information such as their age, income, saving goals and investment history into an algorithm, which then assigns them an investment portfolio, ranging from more conservative to higher risk ones.
These portfolios are made up of exchange traded funds (ETFs) with exposure to indices such as US and global equities, fixed-income products like bonds, though exposure to real estate, commodity ETFs or gold is also possible.
Investing in ETFs allows robo-advisers to offer fees far lower than traditional investments, such as actively managed mutual funds bought through a bank or broker. Investors can buy ETFs directly via a brokerage, but with robo-advisers they benefit from investment portfolios matched to their risk tolerance as well as being user friendly.
Many robo-advisers charge what are called wrap fees, meaning there are no additional fees such as subscription or withdrawal fees, success fees or fees for rebalancing.
