You can dine 'Fawlty Towers' style on board the QE2 this September

A culinary experience based on the famously chaotic BBC show is coming to Dubai

The Queen Elizabeth 2 is set to welcome Basil, Sybil, Manuel et al, as it prepares to host a Faulty Towers Dining Experience.

Fans of the British television show Fawlty Towers, which ran for two series from 1975 to 1979, will enjoy the interactive dining experience, set in the ship's Grand Lounge from Wednesday September 18 to Friday September 20.

The Faulty Towers Dining Experience has run since 1997, touring more than 20 countries a year, and even enjoyed a stint on London's West End.

Guests can expect two hours of eating, drinking and laughing, with the fun starting as the audience wait to be seated and become diners in that infamous hotel.

Basil, Sybil and Manuel will be your waiters, serving a three-course meal, with a side of chaos to be expected. The meal costs Dh375 per person.

Organisers have billed it as "fully immersive, highly improvised, site-specific comedy theatre at its [finest]", adding: "Only a third of show is scripted, so performances are always fresh and unique. Guests can expect the unexpected as they dine with the legendary trio, and we can guarantee Basil will be at his grumpy best."
