If breakfast is your favourite meal of the day, get yourself to The Cocoa Room.

The breakfast-only restaurant opened last week at the Galleria Mall in Dubai. It’s open daily from 8am to noon and will operate inside the restaurant Slider Station. At noon, the kitchen will switch back over to Slider Station for lunch and dinner service.

There are five different versions of eggs Benedict on the menu, including a roast beef Benedict; a smoke and fire Benedict (with smoked brisket and green chilli hollandaise); and an ancho and cocoa-braised short ribs Benedict. There are loads of other egg dishes too. Among them: green shakshuka; eggs menemen (Turkish style scrambled eggs) and a dish called “Scrambled Eggs Money Bags” with shaved black truffle, roasted macadamia nuts, fresh cream and Parmesan.

On The Cocoa Room’s list of breakfast sandwiches is one called the “Ninjawich” that comes with maple and chipotle candied bacon, French toast, sunny side up eggs, cheddar, sweet potato fries and Sriracha maple hollandaise sauce.

On the sweet side is a range of waffles, pancakes and homemade doughnuts. Some highlights: red velvet pancakes; blueberry whole wheat waffles with clotted cream; peanut butter and jelly French toast and piña colada doughnuts.

If you have any room left after eating the food, don’t miss the hot chocolates. People are buzzing about the salted caramel and burnt marshmallow variety.
