Tom Aikens, the youngest chef in Britain to achieve two Michelin stars, will open his unique restaurant concept Pots, Pans and Boards at Dubai’s The Beach in September.
Aikens’s debut UAE eatery will offer English, Mediterranean and French dishes – from black squid tempura and lamb meatballs with harissa to treacle-marinated salmon and red fruit and apple crumble – all cooked and presented in a pot or pan, or on a board.
“We absolutely cannot wait to bring Pots, Pans and Boards to the people of Dubai and are keen to offer up something completely different to what currently exists on the Dubai food scene,” says Aikens, 44.
The celebrity chef’s eponymous restaurant was launched in 2003, got its first Michelin star in 2004, and a rising second star in 2008. He launched his brasserie-style farm-to-table concept, Tom’s Kitchen, in 2006 in Chelsea, which was rolled out in Somerset House, Canary Wharf, St Katherine’s dock and Istanbul.
