Dubai Foodie News: Indian street feast for Eid, Legemat Festival at Seven Sands and more



• This Eid, get a taste of authentic Indian snacks at La Porte des Indes at The Address Dubai Mall. The street-food festival in the fine-dining restaurant will feature a live chaat station with signatures bites including pain puri (tiny puffs stuffed with spicy potato, mint, cumin water and tamarind chutney); dahi bhalla (deep-fried lentil dumplings soaked in yogurt); and jhal muri (puffed riced tossed with onions, tomatoes, green chillies, peanuts and spices). • Seven Sands, the recently opened Emirati restaurant at The Beach, Dubai, will celebrate the UAE's most beloved treat throughout October with their first Legemat Festival. Typically, the sweet sticky dumplings are fried and coated with date syrup. The Legemat Festival at Seven Sands will offer up six different varieties: saffron orange, pistachio; Nutella; balaleet cinnamon; nutmeg honey and cardamom with honey sugar. • Hard Rock Cafe Dubai will celebrate Vegetarian Awareness Month by adding a range of new vegetarian options to its classic menu. More than 25 vegetarian dishes will debut starting October 4. New dishes include a quinoa burger; south-west spiced tofu and black bean wrap; potato, chickpea and spinach burger; grilled vegetable and halloumi wrap; fennel, beet and orange Salad and more. • Wakame, a new Asian restaurant and bar, will open at the Sofitel Downtown Dubai this October. The restaurant will focus on authentic Asian ingredients with a focus on sushi and dim sum. •Celebrate Golden Week – which begins on October 1 – at Hakkasan in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The seven-day Chinese holiday is a popular travel time for people in China, domestically and overseas. In honour of the occasion, Hakkasan Abu Dhabi and Hakkasan Dubai will offer a supreme dim sum platter featuring lobster, abalone, caviar, Alaskan king crab, Chilean sea bass, golden macaroons and more. They’ll also have a limited-time iced tea called the Golden Orchard.
