Fans of the award-winning, home-grown independent Asian restaurant 3 Fils will be happy to know the team is opening a new eatery in Dubai this year – but this time it's all about desserts.

Brix, as the new dessert bar is called, will open this autumn, serving only sweets and drinks, including tea and coffee, for dine-in and takeaway. About 15 of the more popular and intriguing items from the 3 Fils menu will be on offer – including the saffron meringue, karak ice cream with butterscotch and a Vimto dessert – as well as a tasting menu for those of us with a sweet tooth who just can't choose.

There will be only 10 seats, and it's currently under construction.

A location is yet to be announced, but it will not be at the original restaurant's Jumeirah Fishing Harbour spot.

On 3 Fils's Instagram account, there is an ongoing competition asking customers to tag a picture of themselves on their next trip to the restaurant to potentially win two tasting menus when Brix opens. Results will be announced at the end of August, only a few weeks before the new eatery is reportedly scheduled to open.
