Roberto Cavalli is undergoing a transformation of late. Under the guidance of new Creative Director Peter Dundas, formally head designer at Pucci and a man who lists supermodels among his closest friends, Cavalli has been injected with new glamour and sex appeal. Luckily this new energy and zest isn’t just limited to womenswear, as this month see’s Cavalli launch its first ever fragrance for men.
Entitled simply Uomo, or man, this new scent has been crafted by master perfumerier Christophe Raynaud- the nose behind fragrances for Azzaro, Balenciaga, and Celine among many others. He has brought his signature top note of black violet to this scent, balanced with masculine saffron. The cedarwood basenote adds a rich earthiness, keeping the fragrance heady and intoxicating, which fits perfectly with Dundas's own attitude of bohemian rock and roll.
The Cavalli spirit is continued with both bottle and box wrapped in crocodile pattern, but updated in rock star black.
Roberto Cavalli Uomo men's fragrance, Dh420 for 100ml and available in all major department stores.
