Indian-wear is nothing if not colourful, and this season's Lakme Fashion Week proves. The event was held in Mumbai from Wednesday, August 21 to Sunday, August 25, and featured close to 40 designers, many of whom roped in Bollywood celebrities to model for them.

Star power aside, the five-day event featured the festive collections of some of India's best designers, from Manish Malhotra and Ritu Kumar, to designer duos Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna (who opened the show) and Gauri & Nainika (who presented the finale collection).

From bridal finery and gorgeously sari drapes to Indo-Western kurtis and flowing skirts with ethnic motifs, the looks are suitable for a range of occasions.

Check out the gallery above to inspire your own wardrobe.

Fresh from his stint at Lakme, designer Gaurang will present a trunk show of his hand-woven fabrics in Dubai on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31.
