London-based footwear brand Malone Souliers is known best for its Maureen style, a pointed-toe mule with two understated straps. Available in both a heeled and flat version (pictured above), and in a range of colours and textures, Maureen, along with a selection of the brand's other best-selling designs, are now available at Harvey Nichols in Dubai.
Since launching in 2014, the brand has cultivated an impressive celebrity following – Amal Clooney, Cameron Diaz, Emma Roberts, Solange Knowles, Ellie Goulding and Poppy Delevingne are just some of the famous names that have taken to wearing Malone Souliers, both for red carpet appearances and everyday occasions.
While the label's high-heeled shoes are works of art, its flats are equally exquisite, offering fashion-forward options for women seeking practical glamour.
When The National met Malone Souliers founders Mary Alice Malone and Roy Luwolt a few months ago in Dubai, where they were celebrating the brand's launch at luxury e-tailer The Modist, Malone explained that even when creating high heels, comfort is of the utmost importance.
"As a woman, being on both the technical side and the experience side of, it would just be mean and rude for me to make uncomfortable shoes," she said. "Part of the beauty of high heels is a woman in motion, so if she's walking like a hobbled horse, then I don’t really care how beautiful the shoes are, I consider that unsuccessful design."
