The 64th Filmfare Awards ceremony was held in Mumbai on March 23. Still the most coveted trophy in the Hindi film industry, Filmfare is known for its ability to bring Bollywood’s biggest stars together for an evening that’s at once filled with heartfelt speeches and lifetime achievement awards, as well as couture clothing and high-octane performances.

This year, for instance, had Shah Rukh Khan as host, while in the crowd were current and former partners Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. Also in attendance were Kajol, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Karan Johar, Hema Malini, Preity Zinta, Ayushmann Khurrana, Diana Penty, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Sonam Kapoor.

The outfits

Ever the style maven, Sonam Kapoor rocked a hot pink Ralph and Russo haute couture, with a fishtail cut and oversized assymetric sleeves.

Kapoor's counterpart when it comes to bold, edgy fashion, Ranveer Singh wore Versace in all its black and gold glory.

Singh's wife Deepika Padukone looked elegant in a black Alberta Ferretti flat-collar gown.

Sitting pretty next to Padukone, Alia Bhatt looked svelte in a corset bodice and silvery-black skirt from Ralph and Russo.

Bhatt's BFF and gym buddy Katrina Kaif wore an Indo-western embroidered gown in blue and silver from Falguni and Shane Peacock.

Newcomer Sara Ali Khan went for an easy all-Indian look in a gold and white lehenga by Abu Jani and Sandeep Kholsa.
