Dubai Design District has a new boutique on the block: Amato Luxe. The Amato brand was launched in 2004 by designer Furne One and textile expert Rashid Ali, and has since grown to become one of the most-known fashion labels to come out of the UAE. Case in point: at the seasonal Fashion Forward Dubai (FFWD) editions, Amato’s is the show, time and again, that has hour-long queues at the entrance doors. This is partly due to the fact that designer Furne One has a taste for theatrics – at his spring/summer 2017 show for instance, the runway was filled with sand and cacti, and showstopping looks were topped off with intricate head pieces. The designer has also dressed celebrities such as Katy Perry, Tyra Banks, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez.
The first drop of designs available at the label’s new store in D3 include floral bomber jackets, lace duster jackets and pastel-hued gowns, embellished with motifs of insects and birds.
“Rashid and I have had such a beautiful journey with Amato and, in a sense, the city as well,” says Furne One. “When I first moved to Dubai, it was just a small town with great promise. Our new stand-alone store represents the essence of contemporary Dubai, and it is therefore fitting that we chose Dubai Design District as our location. D3 is a burgeoning fashion destination and is a perfect reflection of our brand positioning.”
The Amato Luxe boutique is located in Building 4 R01 at D3.
