Beyonce chooses Saudi designer for Flo-Jo tribute

Beyoncé wore a Florence Griffith-Joyner inspired outfit for Halloween.

Beyonce recently made headlines by sporting a Florence Griffith-Joyner-inspired Halloween costume. She paid tribute to the American track and field athlete by donning a one-legged, fluorescent purple Adidas leotard.

Well, the custom-made outfit was designed by Death by Dolls, a label founded by Sara Al Saud, a designer based in LA and born to Saudi Arabian parents in London.

The brand also posted a photo of their costume sketch on Instagram:

Who was Beyonce paying tribute to? Nicknamed Flo-Jo, the Olympian won three gold medals at the 1988 Seoul Games, but passed away at the age of 38 in 1998 from epilepsy. Mary Joyner, the daughter of the star athlete, also took to Instagram to thank the singer for her tribute. She wrote: "Thank you for giving my mom the recognition, paying the homage and keeping my mother's Memory Alive."
