It's safe to say that the above pictures prove Elie Saab Jr marrying Christina Mourad was Lebanon's wedding of the year (and that's saying something, considering how well the Lebanese do weddings).
Elie Saab is one of the Middle East's most admired designers, and his eldest son's wedding meant three days of celebrations in Lebanon's Faqra mountain resort. The huge wedding party was attended by more than 1,200 guests.
THE EVENTS
The night before
The three days of festivities kicked off with an "Oriental themed pre-party" at the Plateau de Bakish country club, with the bride wearing an Elie Saab cream jumpsuit from the Fall-Winter 2019/2020 collection with a gold cape.
The ceremony
On July 19, the couple tied the knot in a religious ceremony in Bkerki held by Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, followed by a function immediately after the ceremony, organised by Neiman Azzi.
The bride wore an Elie Saab haute couture custom sleeveless tulle embroidered gown made of ivory silk and champagne Lurex threads, embellished with 500,000 sequins, a high-neck bodice and a 4.5-metre train.
The after-party
In the evening, the wedding celebration, organised by Ziad Raphael Nassar, took place in Faqra Club with the 1,200 guests including high-profile personalities, celebrities and friends of the family.
Among the guests were Saad Hariri, Dita von Teese, Chantal Thomass, Karolina Kurkova, Nadine Labaki, Toni Garrn, Lily Donaldson, Elissa, Nancy Ajram and Assi Hilani.
The bride wore an Elie Saab haute couture gold and beige, rose-heart-shaped corset gown with a voluminous skirt and a 3.5m train inspired by the designer's haute couture Fall-Winter 2019/2020 collection. The gown is embellished with 650,000 gold sequins and 150,000 Swarovski pieces.
The night after
The festivities ended with a party at Saab’s residence in Faqra on July 20, which ran all night from sunset to sunrise. The bride wore an aquamarine silk georgette full-length dress, embellished with a coral-shaped brooch from the Elie Saab huate couture Spring-Summer 2019 collection.
