The Baby & Kids flea market will return to the capital for a second edition on Saturday, February 3, at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort. The event provides a platform for new parents to pick up pre-loved baby essentials and kids’ items, such as toys, books, strollers, safety gates, shoes and clothes at discounted rates, as well as for parents of older children to sell the items they no longer use. Savings aside, the market offers a chance to curb wastage and also protect the environment by re-using stuff. It's also a good spot to interact with fellow parents, while the kids are on the bouncy castle. Organiser Martina Venus, said: ‘’In a country where most shopping has to be done in shopping malls, and where things are rather expensive, it seems to be a good idea to buy these items second-hand, in a fun, family-friendly environment. Being a mum of two-year-old twins, I realise how fast they outgrow their clothes, shoes, toys and equipment, and I am wondering what to do with it. As a native German, I am very committed to the environment and throwing almost brand-new items into the garbage is out of question.” The event is from 9am to 3pm. Visitors can enter free of charge, while stalls can be booked for Dh220.
