Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are the latest Indian film stars to welcome a new little bundle of joy, joining Anita Hassanandani and Rohit Reddy, and Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have also seen their families grow in 2021.

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have welcomed a baby boy, a little brother for their son, Taimur, 4.
The couple are yet to officially announce their son's birth, but Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kapoor's cousin, revealed that they have welcomed a baby boy on Instagram. Designer Manish Malhotra also gave them a social media shout-out, writing: "Congratulations, Saif Ali Khan and my dearest Kareena Kapoor."
Anita Hassanandani and Rohit Reddy
Actress Anita Hassanandani and her businessman husband Rohit Reddy announced the birth of their son on February 12, writing: "And just like that we were three!"
Named Aaravv, the couple did not announce the baby's moniker themselves, instead, comedian Bharti Singh did, when she shared a hamper sent to her by Hassanandani and Reddy, showing a glimpse of the newborn's name.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli welcomed a baby girl on January 11. Later in the month, the couple gave the world a glimpse of the newborn, who they have named Vamika, in a nursery filled with pink balloons.
“We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life, but this little one, Vamika, has taken it to a whole new level,” she wrote.

Haemoglobin disorders explained
Thalassaemia is part of a family of genetic conditions affecting the blood known as haemoglobin disorders.
Haemoglobin is a substance in the red blood cells that carries oxygen and a lack of it triggers anemia, leaving patients very weak, short of breath and pale.
The most severe type of the condition is typically inherited when both parents are carriers. Those patients often require regular blood transfusions - about 450 of the UAE's 2,000 thalassaemia patients - though frequent transfusions can lead to too much iron in the body and heart and liver problems.
The condition mainly affects people of Mediterranean, South Asian, South-East Asian and Middle Eastern origin. Saudi Arabia recorded 45,892 cases of carriers between 2004 and 2014.
A World Health Organisation study estimated that globally there are at least 950,000 'new carrier couples' every year and annually there are 1.33 million at-risk pregnancies.

Hydrogen: Market potential
Hydrogen has an estimated $11 trillion market potential, according to Bank of America Securities and is expected to generate $2.5tn in direct revenues and $11tn of indirect infrastructure by 2050 as its production increases six-fold.
