One's Christmas cards say an awful lot about one. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have both released their Christmas cards on the same day – and they couldn't be more different.

The Cambridge family have opted for a family photograph shot by Matt Porteus in the countryside around their Norfolk home. It features the Duke and Duchess, casually dressed, surrounded by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

"It was an honour to be asked to photograph the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their family at Anmer Hall," said Porteus. "Capturing the fun and relaxed moments between such a wonderful family was a true privilege."

In contrast, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went for a more glamorous, black and white image taken at their wedding reception at Frogmore House, Windsor.

This photo released by Kensington Palace on Friday Dec. 14, 2018, shows the photo taken by Chris Allerton of Britain's Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex at their wedding reception at Frogmore House, Windsor, England, which is to be used as their 2018 Christmas card. The father of the Dukes, Prince Charles, also released his Christmas card, a conservative image of he and the Duchess of Cornwall sitting together on a bench.
