We are now just one month away from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final race in the 2019 calendar.

And the capital is gearing up to see this racing season out with a bang, with four all-star concerts planned, as well as a packed racing weekend schedule.

It will be a double celebration for UAE racegoers, as this year’s race weekend will lead directly into National Day celebrations. Naturally, there are plenty of parties planned on Yas Island throughout race weekend, and if you are hoping to make the most of them, it’s time to start planning.

Here are some of the biggest parties happening:

Hidden Race Weekend at Iris Yas Island

Dubai’s Hidden Brunch will be taking over Iris on Yas Island for three luxurious brunches. Taking place on Friday, November 29; Saturday, November 30; and Sunday, December 1, the marina-side bar will be buzzing with pre-race festivities.

The newly-refurbished venue offers spectacular views out over Yas Marina, set to the soundtrack of the roar from nearby Yas Marina Circuit. On Friday and Saturday, the sparkling brunch packages start from Dh499 for ladies, and Dh659 for house. The deal will span from 1pm to 4pm, and include a premium international buffet and entrance to the after party.

On race day Sunday, packages will start from Dh599 for sparkling for ladies, and Dh799 from premium and house beverages.

The track-side Yas Hotel will officially be transforming into W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island in time for race weekend, and to celebrate, they are teaming up with luxury Dubai events companies Inside Lifestyle and Secret Parties to host a series of brunches with unparalleled access to the race.

Taking place on the Royal Rich List Terrace, the brunches will include unlimited food and premium beverages, as well as access to the Marina Grandstand and a ticket to the after-race concert. There is also the option to upgrade to the gold package, offering access to the Inside Lifestyle VIP area, giving you premium track views.

The brunches will take place on Friday, November 29; Saturday, November 30; and Sunday, December 1, with live entertainment from the likes of DJs Hardeep, Nicky Cartel, Chris Wright, Jon Besant and Danny Whitlock. On Friday and Saturday, packages start from Dh1,500 for brunch, race access and the after-race concert, while the gold package costs Dh2,000. On Sunday raceday, packages start from Dh3,7000, and Dh4,200 for the gold package.

Candypants Yas Island takeover

Legendary party planners Candypants have gone all out this year with race weekend plans. Back for its third year, the Social Pit Lane brunch will take over Casa De Cuba for a four-hour all-inclusive brunch everyday between Thursday, November 28 and Sunday, November 1. There will be unlimited beverages and food on offer from 8pm to 11pm on the Thursday night, and 1pm to 4pm from Friday to Sunday. Brunch packages start from Dh499 between Thursday and Saturday, while raceday prices start from Dh699.

Meanwhile, for those who really want a race weekend to remember, Candypants is hosting a Trackside Mega Yacht Party, offering party goers 12 hours of premium food and drink from noon until midnight from Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 1. Prices start from Dh1,990. However, if 12 hours sounds too much, you can also board the yacht for the after-race party, taking place between 8pm and midnight from Friday to Sunday, for Dh499.

“There’s only two races on the Formula One calendar where you can watch the race from a yacht. One is Monaco and one is Abu Dhabi,” said Danny Berger who owns a company which chartered one of the yatchs berthed at Yas Marina for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Christopher Pike / The National

Okoko at Wet Deck, Abu Dhabi

Okoko will be taking over the rooftop Wet Deck area of the new W Abu Dhabi, and it’s bringing with it a line-up of world class DJs for race weekend. The pool parties will feature sets from Sandy Rivera, Faithless and Claptone over the course of the weekend, with day and night parties taking place on Friday, November 29; Saturday, November 30; and Sunday, December 1. Sandy Riveria will play the Friday night, with the party taking place between 9.30pm and 4am. Tickets start at Dh250. On the Saturday night, Faithless DJ will take to the decks, with tickets starting from Dh500, while Claptone will play the weekend out at the race day afterparty, with tickets starting from Dh500.

More of Yas Island’s bars and restaurants are likely to announce special brunch packages in the coming weeks, so we will keep you updated with all the latest events and deals.
