DUBAI // People are being invited to help sort and prepare boxes of donated books as part of the Reading Nation campaign for Ramadan.
Dubai Cares, one of the organisations participating in the campaign, said that members of the public can volunteer to help prepare the boxes for shipping and distribution.
Dubai Cares has collected books donated by pupils at about 500 schools nationwide, who were given tags to write personalised messages to the refugee children who will receive them.
The books and boxes will be sorted in Al Boom Tourist Village, between Al Khor Park and Al Garhoud Bridge, on Saturday, which marks Zayed Humanitarian Day.
The organisation said it aimed to have 200 volunteers working in two shifts, from 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm.
Books will be organised according to their language, target age group and content.
