Yahlive is offering a new TV service in the UAE and Saudi Arabia targeting Asian audiences.

The UAE-based satellite operator has teamed up with Entertainment Reality TV Hub to offer the service, which is set to start in August.

It will target expatriate viewers from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka as well as the Philippines.

“The launch of the new set-top box is in line with Yahlive’s strategy of bringing top-quality, in-demand news and entertainment content to different targeted communities,” the satellite company said in a statement.

Viewers will be able to watch dozens of new channels in seven different languages, including Urdu, Hindi and Tamil.

While the cost of the service was not disclosed, Yahlive said customers who signed up early would be eligible for “a few months of free subscription” including a free set-top box.

Sami Boustany, Yahlive’s chief executive, said the service would also be rolled out across other GCC countries.

Yahlive has its headquarters in Abu Dhabi and was launched in 2011 as a joint venture between SES and Yahsat, a UAE-based satellite operator owned by Mubadala.
