ABU DHABI // “Sweden” is the next island to be developed on The World archipelago off the Dubai coast.

The island, part of the Heart of Europe project, is a holiday destination of six man-made islands, each offering a different aspect of European life.

Sweden, the second phase of the project by the Kleindienst Group, will feature 10 villas in a Scandinavian style.

Each will have seven bedrooms over four floors, with a gym, spa, entertainment space, private pool and beach access.

The island will feature a floating restaurant serving Swedish cuisine. It will host cultural traditions and festivals, such as midsummer celebrations, Swedish national day, and “the best of the country’s music, art and film”, a spokesman said.

“We are extremely excited to announce phase two of the Heart of Europe and share details about Sweden Island,” said Josef Kleindienst, head of the Kleindienst Group.

“The island will not only be home to the finest Swedish architecture and design, but it will bring the best of Swedish culture and lifestyle to Dubai.

“We want to ensure people are genuinely able to experience Sweden on the Heart of Europe, through food, music, festivals, traditions and architecture.

“I am confident that once complete, the Heart of Europe will bring a unique holiday experience to Dubai.”
