DUBAI // Flights into Manchester airport were disrupted on Thursday due to heavy snow across northern England.
Emirates flight EK0017 from Dubai to Manchester was diverted to London’s Gatwick, according to an Emirates spokeswoman, and Etihad Airways flight EY016 from Manchester to Abu Dhabi was delayed.
“All 262 passengers have disembarked the aircraft and have been assisted at the airport lounge or provided hotel accommodation in Manchester,” he said.
“Passengers who will miss their connecting flights will be rebooked on the next available service. The airline will provide overnight accommodation in Abu Dhabi where required.”
Services from Manchester airport were later resumed after the runways were cleared of snow.
“Flights have now resumed but are subject to delays,” according to tweets from Manchester airport.
