The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has carried out a food safety inspection campaign on hotels in Al Ain over the weekend.
Five warnings were issued after 80 per cent of the hotels across the Emirate were inspected.
The campaign focused on the unsafe practices by food handlers and the equipment used in storing and presenting food to the public.
Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, director of the communication and community service department at the ADFCA, said the campaign aims to ensure Al Ain hotels fulfil the ADFCA’s requirements.
He added that the ADFCA targets hotels as they attract many tourists during Ramadan and the summer.
