Rosewood, the only hotel on Al Maryah Island, expects to drive up the average length of stay in the capital once Cleveland Clinic ramps up its operations.
“We are looking at five to seven days’ stay and this can also go up to one month, and we can put up the guests at serviced apartments,” said Luigi Romaniello, the managing director of Rosewood Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi has been struggling to increase the average length of guest stays, which fell 4 per cent last year to 2.99 nights.
Last month, Cleveland Clinic started its eye institute and expects to open its other critical care units by the end of the month.
The 189-room, five-star Rosewood, which is connected to the hospital as well as The Galleria shopping mall, also attracts corporate clients of the Abu Dhabi Global Market.
The Rosewood’s overall occupancy rate during the first quarter was 75 per cent, according to Mr Romaniello.
In January, ADGM signed a 50-year lease on the anvil-shaped building where it will have its headquarters, including its financial services regulations bureau, registration bureau and courts.
Hong Kong-based Rosewood also expects to expand its presence in the UAE with a beach and a city property by 2020, said Symon Bridle, the chief operating officer at Rosewood Hotel Group.
