The organisers of the Mother of the Nation festival are hoping it will become a tourist attraction for visitors from around the world. Abu Dhabi Tourism and Cultural Authority said the festival, which opens on the Corniche on Thursday, would be the first of its kind ever staged in the country. The festival, organised in honour of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the widow of late Founder and President Sheikh Zayed, will run for 10 days across a 1.3km stretch of the Corniche beach.
