Emptying the contents of a water bottle over two squabbling brothers who throw chips on her school homework and climbing a tree for dates that save her grandmother’s life are among Mahra’s favourite segments of the movie ‘The Family Tree’ to be screened at the UAE pavilion in Milan.
Mahra’s best memory was performing a rap song that ties in to the Milan Expo theme of Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life:
Mahra enjoys singing lyrics from the catchy song:
“We have land and food and energy/The sun, the sand and the big blue sea/The people, the animals/I’m beginning to see/Are all interconnected like a tapestry/We’re a legacy that can be lean and green through history/I believe and know that together/We can choose to make our planet grow/So come on, stand up, shout up/Let’s go.”
The song continues: “I’ll believe, I care, I’ll come with you/I’m here, I’m there/It’s my planet too/Coz what can I do/Alone and too small/I need to be a giant who is 10foot tall/Together we can do it if we all stand up.”
