Emirates NBD first to use credit score
Emirates NBD became the first UAE financial institution to process loan or card applications using the Al Etihad Credit Bureau (AECB) Consumer Retail Banking Score. The bank said it now links its interest rates and eligibility on loans and credit card limits to the score.
Mercedes E-Class tops list of popular executive cars
The Mercedes E-Class is the most popular second-hand executive car in the UAE, according to CarSwitch.com, which has ranked the most popular executive cars, based on its current database, and sales generated. German cars, in general, are in high demand, according to the second-hand car marketplace, which said the first-placed Mercedes accounts for 30 per cent of executive car sales on its site. The experts chose their top executive picks based on luxury, power, value and the demand seen on their portal. Other top spots were taken by BMW and Audi models.

Visa started a six-week training programme for more than 18,000 UAE merchants this week aimed at accelerating the adoption of contactless payments across the country. The global payments provider has also developed a toolkit to help companies understand contactless payments technology. Visa payWave operates with the customer simply waving their Visa card in front of the point of sale reader, delivering a speedy, convenient and secure payment experience. For payments below the defined threshold, UAE customers do not need to enter a PIN.
