Samsung’s limited edition Galaxy Note Edge is coming to the Middle East. When? We don’t know exactly. The price? We don’t know that either.
At the regional launch of the Note Edge, the South Korean manufacturer said that the smartphone will be available, “hopefully by December” and will be priced “at a premium”.
What constitutes premium is uncertain. The Note 4 (the same phone essentially but without the curved edge) is priced at Dh2,799.
But despite the lack of information, the Edge is likely to create a buzz and will most definitely attract queues outside electronics stores as soon as it is available.
Depending on the price, the Note Edge may actually be worth every dirham. This, along with the Note 4 is perhaps the first couple of devices from Samsung that deserve a two thumbs up.
Firstly, the handwriting recognition tool is useful and now both phones have Arabic handwriting recognition which works even when writing SMS messages and emails using the S-Pen. This is really rather incredible.
It also has the Photo Note feature whereby you can take a picture of a document and then edit it freely on the phone. This is also pretty incredible.
The multi-tasking and splitting of screens is very useful and it seems that Samsung has cracked the balance between business and private phone to offer something that can increase productivity while allowing you to enjoy the best of the internet.
