Nearly 53 per cent of the UAE's employers expect to recruit staff in the next three months, according to a survey by online recruitment company Bayt.com, signalling an improvement in the jobs scenario.

The last hiring study was done in January when Bayt.com said only 26 per cent of the UAE companies would hire in the next three months.

The Bayt.com and research firm YouGov survey questioned nearly 6,000 professionals such as human resources directors and senior executives in the region, of whom 10 per cent were from the UAE.

The job positions that will open up in multinational and local companies in the Emirates include junior and senior level executives, and coordinators that will require degrees in business management, engineering, commerce and computer science.

In the UAE, the number of vacancies in a company can be as high as 10, according to the one-month survey conducted between July and August.

When it comes to attractiveness of a job market, the UAE scored the highest in the region, with banking and finance, oil, gas and petrochemicals, and telecommunications the most attractive industries here.

Good communication skills and team spirit apart from managerial and engineering skills are the most sought after in the UAE.
