Marka Holding, the Dubai-listed retailer, on Sunday added the French jeweller House of dinh van to its growing stable of brands.
The company, which celebrated the first anniversary of its listing on the Dubai Financial Market this month, has been busy adding to its portfolio this year. Newcomers include the children’s entertainment group Cheeky Monkeys, the restaurant chain Reem Al Bawadi and the sports memorabilia company Icons.
Leigh Ann Lanier, Marka’s director of strategic marketing, said House of dinh van fits into its “three-pronged approach to retail, covering sports, fashion and hospitality”.
She said the company was expecting to announce two more brands before the end of the year and further brands next year.
Marka expects its first House of dinh van outlet to start trading in the second phase of City Walk from early December, with four more in the UAE and Qatar by 2020.
The company currently operates 37 stores, and has plans to increase that number to 64 next year.
In August, Marka said its second-quarter losses narrowed to Dh2.14 million from Dh8.3m in the first quarter.
The company expects to become profitable by next year ahead of forecasts.
