IT industry professionals gathered in the capital on Sunday to help support the development of information, communications and technology skills in the country.
Mr Adel Al Hashmi, the chairman of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, Middle East Chapter, highlighted industry efforts to link education, the economy and innovation with information technology to help build sustainable smart cities in line with the UAE’s 2021 Vision.
“Hosting this Conference in Abu Dhabi strengthens the UAE capital’s position as a pioneer in the IT world, attracting prominent research centres which confirms its advanced and modern infrastructure,” he said.
Philip Parham, the British ambassador to UAE, stressed the significance of the Institute’s efforts to promote the development of the IT industry around the world. It has over 80,000 members in 100 countries.
