Dubai airline Emirates takes FA Cup on tour of Africa

Emirates is taking the prestigious FA Cup trophy on a tour of Africa.

The Dubai carrier is the lead partner of the world’s oldest football cup competion, and the tour forms part of the three-year sponsorship deal it has with the English Football Association.

The Emirates FA Cup will visit Accra, Ghana and Nairobi in Kenya after a short layover in Dubai and is being accompanied by ambassador and former England international David James.

The airline has a number of major sporting sponsorship deals, including with Real Madrid, Arsenal and AC Milan in the football industry, and the US Open tennis.

It currently serves 27 destinations in Africa, including five cargo points.
